We’re playing a game. We begin a common phrase or saying and the children have to guess the last word.
Two many cooks spoil the.... “Books?” suggests our eldest.
Every cloud has a silver… “Lining!” shouts the seven year old.
One, two, buckle my…. “Shoe!” yells the four year old.
Red sky at night, shepherds’…. “PIE!” triumphs the two year old.

give her a few more years in Hong Kong and she won't remember what Shepherd's Pie is!
I had to teach my then 2 y old what sheep, horses, pigs were. She could do buffalo and elephan tno problem....
I like "too many cooks spoil the books". Is it some kind of banking metaphor? There's certainly been quite a bit of cooking the books recently.
